1. Scope
This page explains the criteria, weighting and ranking basis used in every cottage comparison published on beyozndhorizonvventures.com. It applies to all comparison tables, ratings and “best for” selections on the site.
2. Criteria and weights
- Location and access — 25%. Distance to stated amenities, documented road access and utility availability.
- Price and terms — 25%. Total cost, transparency of fees and clarity of booking conditions.
- Property condition — 20%. Verified description, photographs and stated renovation status.
- Consumer terms — 15%. Complaint, cancellation and refund procedure clarity.
- Owner responsiveness — 10%. Measured reply times and resolution of past enquiries.
- Data completeness — 5%. Availability of documents and supporting evidence.
3. Scoring and ranking
Each criterion is scored from 1 to 5 against a written rubric. Weighted scores are summed to a maximum of 5.00 and listings are ranked in descending order. Ties are broken by the more recently verified data set, then by completeness of evidence. Scores reflect our criteria only and are not a guarantee of quality or availability.
4. Evidence and verification
Claims about inspections, utility availability, road access or documents are accepted only with supporting evidence. Unverified claims are excluded from scoring. In line with the Law of Ukraine ‘On Advertising’ No. 270/96-VR of 3 July 1996, all comparative statements are identifiable as advertising, truthful and substantiated, and are not misleading.
5. Sponsored and promoted placements
Some placements are paid. Paid placements are labelled “Sponsored” or “Promoted” and are visually separated from organic rankings. Payment never changes a score, a rubric result or the position of an unpaid listing. Sponsored content is identified as required by the Law of Ukraine ‘On Advertising’ No. 270/96-VR of 3 July 1996 and is presented without unfair commercial practices under the Law of Ukraine ‘On Consumer Protection’ No. 3153-IX of 10 June 2023.
6. Updates and corrections
Prices, availability and terms are re-checked at least quarterly, and immediately after a verified owner notification. Corrections are published with a change date. You may request a review of any entry by writing to the address below; we respond within 10 business days.
